Ordsall Chord Bridge Receives Royal Academy of Engineering’s Major Project Award for 2018.
Wednesday 4th July 2018
The Orsall chord is the first asymmetric network arch bridge in the world. Its engineers are set to receive the Royal Academy of Engineering’s Major Project Award for 2018, recognising the collaboration, skill and engineering flair necessary to execute such a complex, multidisciplinary feat of railway engineering.
Daver Steels worked closely with Skanska BAM and Severfield on the supply of this unique bridge. We supplied 92 custom M100 galvanised tension members with remote reading load monitoring pins and tensioning equipment.
